We are currently working with a welcoming and nurturing village primary school on the outskirts of Bedale who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with ASD.
Role Overview
In this role, you will provide personalised, consistent support to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence within the classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies and promote positive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD throughout the school day
- Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and learning styles
- Support emotional regulation and social interaction
- Promote independence while offering reassurance and structure
- Liaise with teaching staff and contribute to progress reviews
- Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive presence
