Do you love the outdoors and enjoy engaging with people? Would you like to spend your summer working in one of the UK’s most spectacular landscapes? If yes, please read on. We’re looking for two Seasonal Access Rangers to join our Southern Ranger Team. In this rewarding role, you’ll help visitors make the most of their time in the National Park while ensuring they explore it responsibly.

About Us

We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, dedicated to protecting, enhancing and promoting the breath-taking landscapes, wildlife and heritage of the Yorkshire Dales. From rolling heather moorlands to dramatic crags, waterfalls and hidden caves, the National Park offers an unforgettable outdoor experience.

The Role

As a Seasonal Access Ranger, you’ll be out and about in the National Park, engaging with visitors and local communities, offering guidance, and ensuring everyone enjoys their visit responsibly. You’ll be:

  • Providing friendly, face-to-face advice at popular locations such as Grassington and Malham;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the public rights of way, and Authority property;
  • Enhancing the visitor experience by sharing your knowledge of the area;
  • Helping to de-escalate any visitor management issues.

You’ll be based at our Grassington Office, near Skipton, working full-time (37 hours per week) from 14 July to 7 September 2025.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, approachable, and outdoors-loving individuals with:

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A passion for the countryside and visitor engagement
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (with appropriate insurance) for travel across the Park
  • Basic countryside management and maintenance skills
