Do you love the outdoors and enjoy engaging with people? Would you like to spend your summer working in one of the UK’s most spectacular landscapes? If yes, please read on. We’re looking for two Seasonal Access Rangers to join our Southern Ranger Team. In this rewarding role, you’ll help visitors make the most of their time in the National Park while ensuring they explore it responsibly.

The Role

As a Seasonal Access Ranger (Visitor Engagement) your role is primarily focused on providing positive and friendly advice to the public on how to enjoy the National Park responsibly; ensuring all visitors have a fantastic experience. You will actively engage with visitors and local communities to help de-escalate visitor management issues. Out in the Park most of the time, you’ll be:

  • Providing friendly, face-to-face advice and engagement activities at some of our busiest sites like Grassington and Malham;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the public rights of way, and Authority property;
  • Enhancing the visitor experience by sharing your knowledge of the area;
  • Helping to de-escalate any visitor management issues.

You’ll be based at our Grassington Office, near Skipton, working full-time (37 hours per week) from 13 July 2026 to 06 September 2026.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, approachable, and outdoors-loving individuals with:

  • Excellent communication, people, engagement and practical skills
  • An enthusiasm for the outdoors, passionate about the countryside
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (with appropriate insurance) for travel across the Park
