Location: Grassington (with blended working opportunities)

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Salary: £29,540 to £36,363 per annum

We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and character of the Yorkshire Dales. We're delivering the Defra-funded Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme, which supports farmers and land managers to deliver projects that benefit climate, nature, people, and place.

The Role

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Work directly with farmers and land managers to develop high-quality project proposals
  • Provide advice on conservation, land management and access and engagement
  • Assess applications and present recommendations to the Local Assessment Panel
  • Monitor project delivery and report progress to Defra
  • Support harder-to-reach applicants and facilitate group or cluster applications

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in agri-environment schemes and upland land management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with farmers
  • A pragmatic, detail‐oriented approach and excellent report writing skills
  • A good understanding of the challenges and opportunities in protected landscapes
  • Experience in farmer group facilitation and access or engagement projects would be an advantage.
  • Access to a car or access to a means of mobility support to meet the travel demands of the post (if driving must have a current valid driving licence and appropriate business insurance) is essential.
