- Work closely with departments to support planning, performance monitoring and financial understanding.
- Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Produce and maintain multi-year cashflow forecasts to support long-term planning.
- Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, VAT, payroll and statutory reporting requirements.
- Lead, develop and motivate a small accounts team, setting clear standards and encouraging collaboration and accountability.
- Act as a trusted partner to colleagues across the Club, helping to bring people together around shared goals and informed decision-making.
- Contribute to the wider leadership of the organisation by modelling strong communication, openness and collaboration.
About You
We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with energy, curiosity and a highly collaborative approach. You will enjoy working with people across the organisation, building strong relationships and influencing decisions through insight and partnership. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and are comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels of the Club. In addition, you possess the following key skills and experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Experience producing management accounts and statutory financial statements
- Strong understanding of audit processes and financial controls
- Excellent Excel and analytical capability
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across an organisation
- A proactive, positive and collaborative leadership style
- Confidence communicating financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and supporting change
