About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Senior Treasury Officer to join our Treasury Operations team.

This is a critical role within a fast-paced, regulated environment, where you will provide technical leadership, operational oversight, and continuity of service across a broad range of treasury activities.

You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, control, and efficiency of Treasury Operations, while also contributing to the development of team capability and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy to the Treasury Operations Manager, ensuring continuity of service and operational resilience.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to Treasury Officers, ensuring the effective execution of daily operational activities.
  • Maintain control over all treasury dealing activity, ensuring settlement and related payments are completed within industry deadlines.
  • Monitor and manage BAU activities to ensure liquidity is maintained, payment obligations are met, and financial and counterparty risks are mitigated.
  • Support Treasury issuance and derivative activity, ensuring adherence to policy and providing subject matter expertise.
  • Hold a payment mandate and support the secure release of payments in line with the control framework.
  • Represent Treasury Operations in meetings with internal departments and external partners.
  • Conduct regular control checks to ensure compliance with internal frameworks and regulatory standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as Treasury Operations SME for small change initiatives and strategic projects, including impact assessments and implementation.
  • Monitor operational issues and errors, identifying root causes and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Lead technical training and upskilling initiatives within the team to build capability and resilience.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Treasury Operations role within the financial services sector (e.g., banking or building society).
  • Detailed understanding of Treasury instruments, settlement processes, and financial market operations.
  • Confident working in a time-sensitive environment, with strong awareness of operational risk and experience in developing mitigating controls.
  • Ability to work independently within established frameworks, applying sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Understanding of settlement schemes (e.g., CHAPS, Faster Payments) and SWIFT messaging.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and macros.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems, Murex MX.3 experience is highly desirable.
