We are excited to share an incredible opportunity for an AI Specialist to join our team in Data & AI. As our newest AI Specialist, you will accelerate the organisation’s ability to adopt and operationalise advanced AI capabilities. This is a hybrid role with working from home plus some onsite presence in our Bradford & central Leeds offices.

About the role

  • Providing specialist technical expertise across AI solution design, development and deployment, supporting complex and high-impact AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced AI capabilities by contributing hands‑on to solutions involving large language models, agentic architectures, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and automation workflows.
  • Support data science and model optimisation activities by assessing data readiness, evaluating model performance, and improving accuracy, consistency, and reliability of AI outputs.
  • Guide solution patterns and technical approaches by advising on best practices for generative AI, data‑driven intelligence, and enterprise AI architectures within the Microsoft AI ecosystem.
  • Act as a technical authority and mentor by supporting AI Product Developers, AI Design Analysts and AI Test Leads through guidance, coaching and hands‑on problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft AI ecosystem technologies, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong practical knowledge of MLOps, model monitoring, evaluation and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to translate business and operational needs into working AI solutions.
  • Ability to analyse AI outputs and improve model behaviour and reliability.
  • Hands‑on experience building AI solutions using large language models, agent frameworks and AI APIs.
  • Strong understanding of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search and retrieval optimisation.
  • Experience developing AI solutions using Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service and Copilot Studio.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns using Microsoft Graph, Power Platform and business applications, as well as working knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and operational support of AI systems.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
