Overview
Financial Modelling Manager role focused on building and maintaining pricing and planning models to support decision-making across Finance & Commercial teams. The role involves establishing robust control and review frameworks to bring greater assurance to each stage of the model development lifecycle and reducing model risk. It also requires strong stakeholder management with teams across Balance Sheet Management, Finance, Treasury and Commercial.
Responsibilities
- Ensure key decisions within the development are made appropriately and efficiently.
- Establish robust control and review frameworks to provide greater assurance at each stage of the model development lifecycle.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management with Balance Sheet Management, Finance, Treasury and Commercial to ensure appropriate knowledge and understanding of the models and their use.
- Work closely with Technical Lead Manager to provide opportunities for development and growth within the team.
- Manage requests from within the business for analysis and model outputs to support activities (e.g., new mortgage proposition assessments).
About you
- We work with many different teams across the business and at various levels of seniority, so you’ll need to convey complex issues to a non-technical audience.
- There’ll be plenty to learn about the Society and our models, so an appetite for learning is key.
- You’ll have experience of building pricing or forecasting models within financial services.
- Good knowledge and experience of modelling cash flows for mortgages, savings and treasury instruments.
- Experience of using SQL (or equivalent such as R or Python) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of modelling using balance sheet management systems, such as BSM/ Focus or QRM would be desirable.

This is an exciting time to join the team as the Society embarks on an ambitious growth plan. Financial Modelling will be at the heart of enabling that growth through transforming the Finance modelling landscape.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of one day a week of onsite presence in our central Leeds office.

- As Financial Modelling Manager, you will design, develop and deliver new models and model redevelopments to support decision-making of the Society’s Finance & Commercial teams.
