Base pay range As our next Data Engineer, you’ll provide data technical solutions to meet the wide-ranging needs of data-users across the business, from analysing data and user requirements to designing, building, and implementing reliable, resilient data products. You’ll join our Leeds-based Technology Operations function, with flexible working capabilities. You’ll need an inquisitive mind and be able to deliver data integrations between systems, considering downstream uses in analytical teams or impacts on regulatory reporting. Working with data analysts and designers, you will deliver and design data solutions supporting multiple analysis use cases or teams. What You’ll Do Design, develop, test, and implement solutions to integrate new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to standards and requirements. Learn about YBS data and how it is used to serve our customers and run our business. Support live services. Collaborate with Architects, Analysts, and Product Owners to analyze impacts of requirements and designs. Define scope, timescales, and quality metrics with the business and project teams to deliver data products, identifying opportunities for reuse. Support the development of team and service capabilities to ensure sustained success. Maintain good housekeeping practices for data, including decommissioning unused data products. Participate in and lead peer reviews of documentation, code, and testing. Report on work progress using appropriate methodologies, such as waterfall or agile. Skills Required Hands-on experience with enterprise ETL tools (e.g., SAP BODS, ODI, SSIS). Knowledge of DWH design, dimensional and relational modeling, and BI delivery using enterprise ETL and BI tools. Understanding of database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with administration of technologies like SAP BODS and SAS. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior stakeholders. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application. Understanding of data profiling and its impact on coding. Familiarity with software development methodologies. Knowledge of DevOps/DataOps practices in data solution development. Awareness of Data Cleansing, Data Quality, and Data Governance tools and methods.
