An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Prudential Risk Oversight Team for a Balance Sheet Management & Treasury Risk Oversight Manager.
About the role
In this role you would act as a subject matter expert to support the delivery of the 2nd Line Prudential Risk Oversight Plan and report to the Senior Manager – Financial Risk, Prudential Risk Oversight.
You will be a key member of the Financial Risk Oversight team that provides oversight of Funding & Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, Treasury Risk, Capital Risk, Financial Sustainability Risk, Regulatory Reporting Risk and Financial Reporting Risk.
In addition you would apply technical knowledge and market awareness to ensure oversight considers internal governance, market best-practice and regulatory compliance.
You will act as an enabler and partner for the business to better understand and manage their risk profile, providing advice and risk-based challenge to 1st Line through impactful and highly influential engagement up to Chief Officer levels.
Please Note: The team are working flexibly with a blend of office and home working. There is a commitment to try and be in the Leeds head office at least once of month, aside from this you can work where you would like. The office is open if you would like to be in more often.
About You
To succeed in this role you will have:
- A background in either ALM, BSM, Treasury or Prudential Risk and within the Banking /Building Society Sector, or through consultancy, advisory or at the regulator.
- In-depth experience and skillset in one or more of the following; Wholesale Credit Risk, Market Risk, Funding & Liquidity Risk, Capital Risk.
- The ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and challenge to Senior Management and non-specialists is also key to the role and requires effective communication, engagement and influencing skills.
- Good awareness and understanding of the relevant regulatory environment relating to Prudential risk and experience of applying in practice.
