Do you want to use your platform engineering experience and skills to be part of a major programme of technology transformation and simplification? We have an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our Data Platforms Technology Services team where you will provide engineering delivery and operational support across a range of on-premise and cloud middleware technologies. This is a hybrid role; remote working, and a small amount of onsite presence in our Bradford office.
Responsibilities
- Enable the business through the delivery of a wide range of Technologies (on premise and Cloud - SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
- Provide 3rd line support services for business-critical production environments (includes on-call rota)
- Proactively identify and implement process, automation and orchestration as part of CI/CD initiatives
- Provide IT capacity and performance management services across the associated technology stack, including security vulnerability and application patching
- Provide appropriate consultancy services to other Group Projects & IT teams, Business Users
Qualifications
- Webservers (Apache, Tomcat), Hardware Security Modules, Oracle Weblogic, Public Cloud (Oracle, Azure), Oracle Forms and Reports
- An understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems Administration (RHEL 8,9)
- Experience using these tools for CI/CD (on premise and cloud) such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git and REST API Client is preferable
- Knowledge of cryptographic technologies
- Versatile knowledge and experience of programming and scripting languages such as Python, Java, Shell scripting
- The ability to embrace new technologies and provide guidance from your own experiences within the team
