Are you a qualified Accountant looking for an opportunity where your technical skills can make a real difference? We are looking for a detail-oriented Regulatory Reporting Specialist to support the interpretation and application of regulatory requirements across Yorkshire Building Society's returns. This fixed-term role plays an important part in ensuring our submissions remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.

This is a hybrid role, working from home along with one day per week in our central Leeds office. This is an 8-month fixed-term contract from May, ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex regulatory requirements in a project-focused environment.

About the role

  • Take detailed regulatory interpretations and apply them accurately to the Society's regulatory returns
  • Liaise across Finance, Risk, Treasury and other business areas to gather data and supporting information
  • Apply technical judgement to assess how regulatory rules should be implemented in reporting methodologies
  • Interpret and document regulatory guidance clearly, ensuring consistent application and strong audit trails
  • Review existing processes and support improvements where required
  • Contribute to ad-hoc analysis relating to regulatory change and reporting impacts

About you

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experienced in Financial Services and Regulatory Reporting
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident interpreting and applying technical regulatory guidance
  • Able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and financial systems
