A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join the New Lending and Property Risk team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, playing a key role in advancing our Risk Management capabilities.
The Retail New Lending and Property Risk team plays a vital role within YBS’s broader Credit Risk function. We work closely with colleagues across Trading, Finance, and Operations to proactively identify, assess, and manage credit risks. Our collaborative approach ensures we deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and members, while driving sustainable growth and performance.
About the Role
As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you\’ll play a pivotal role in advancing YBS’s Property Risk Management. Using your credit risk expertise, you\’ll generate data-driven insights to assess property exposure and shape strategic initiatives. You\’ll collaborate closely with fellow analysts, the Chief Valuer, and external partners. Other key responsibilities may include:
- Conduct market scanning and competitor benchmarking to ensure our lending policies and standards remain appropriate, competitive, and aligned with industry best practice.
- Optimise our approach and execution of valuations and property risk standards, supporting borrowers through their onboarding journey.
- Maintain and enhance key credit risk controls, ensuring they remain robust, compliant, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Provide assurance to internal and external stakeholders by responding to oversight findings and addressing identified concerns, ensuring our credit risk governance remains effective and accountable.
About You
We are seeking a motivated individual with prior experience working for a mortgage lender and a proven track record in credit risk management. To succeed in this role, you will also have:
- Knowledge of processes and tools associated with management of Property Risk across both Residential and Buy to Let lending.
- Proven ability to independently lead programmes of complex analytical work
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Expert skills in data manipulation, SAS (or similar statistical packages), SQL and Microsoft Excel
