Are you an experienced Interaction Designer that wants to play your part in making some big changes that will benefit millions of customers? We have an exciting opportunity to join our team delivering a huge digital transformation project. Here at YBS we have an established team of design professionals supporting YBS’ transformation journey. We are driving the direction of our UCD practice with a real focus on inclusive design. We are expanding our team to support continued growth in our digital channels. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, with possibility of extension.
About the role
As Interaction Designer, you’ll shape the future of our digital services by working collaboratively to come up with innovative ways to meet customer needs and solve business problems. You will:
- Utilise your UX and UI design skills at all stages of the design process, including ideation, prototyping and UI design.
- Work closely with User Research, Service Design and Content Design to deliver high quality designs across web and app channels.
- Carry out usability testing and other forms of validation to improve and iterate your designs.
- Contribute towards our creative culture by helping to drive awareness and understanding of design throughout YBS.
About you
You’ll already have experience and a proven track record of designing engaging digital experiences that meet the needs of the people that use them. You will have:
- An ability to take complex business requirements and turn them into simple, clear interactions and interfaces that delight customers.
- A portfolio showing your experience of bringing your ideas to life using design tools such as Figma.
- Experience of working with a Design System and developing experience patterns.
- Curiosity, empathy, and creativity getting to the heart of people’s needs, behaviours and motivations is your gift, and you use it to help solve their problems.
- An ability to produce and validate your ideas at speed; constantly iterating your ideas in a create, test, and learn cycle.
- A willingness to learn and try new things - be it tools, techniques, or ways of working.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and opinions in a clear, thoughtful, and simple way.
