Help us protect and enable secure access across Yorkshire Building Society. As an Identity Operations Engineer in our Technology Services team, you'll play a key role in supporting and evolving the identity services that keep our colleagues, systems and customers safe. This is a hybrid role with remote working, and approx. 4-5 days per month onsite in our Bradford or central Leeds offices.

About the role

As an Identity Operations Engineer, you'll help protect and enable secure access to the systems and services our colleagues rely on every day. You will:

  • Work within our Identity Operations team, be responsible for the delivery, support and continuous improvement of identity services across Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to maintain a secure, resilient and well-governed identity environment, ensuring operational and security standards are consistently met.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the resolution of complex incidents, enhancing authentication and access controls, and driving automation and service improvements.
  • Play an important role in shaping Identity Operations standards, processes and future roadmaps, whilst supporting audit, assurance and regulatory requirements.

About you

You'll have strong experience supporting identity services and be passionate about delivering secure, reliable solutions that enable colleagues to work effectively and safely. You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and security controls, including MFA and Conditional Access.
  • Experience supporting authentication services, SSO and application integrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and operational service management.

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Experience within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience driving process improvement, automation and operational efficiencies.
  • Exposure to audit, risk and compliance activities within identity management.
