Join Our Mission to Help Save Lives - West Region Community Fundraiser

Location: Home-based (travelling within the West Yorkshire area).

Hours: Full-time, flexible position, regular evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Starting salary of £26,288 p.a

At Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), our helicopters are ready to respond to emergencies across Yorkshire – thanks to the generosity of the public and the dedication of our team. We are looking for a Community Fundraiser to help grow and support our fundraising efforts across our West region.

About the Role

  • Working closely with the Regional Team, you will manage and fully participate in fundraising activities across the region to ensure the annual financial income and expenditure targets are achieved.
  • You will ensure all donors have a great experience and feel fully supported and engaged when raising funds for the Charity in line with the Charity’s principles and values.
  • You will support established volunteers and recruit new volunteers within the region when necessary.
  • Assist in managing the West region’s events diary.
  • Organise, manage and attend community events/functions and ensure appropriate fundraiser or volunteer attendance as required.
  • Act as the first point of contact for fundraising events and supporters.
  • Utilise the CRM system to effectively manage our donors, maximise income, and follow up all events.
  • Act as a representative of Yorkshire Air Ambulance by raising awareness through public speaking engagements and representing the Charity at community fundraising events throughout the West region.
  • Recruit, induct and manage volunteers and ensure they comply with the Charity’s policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the Communications & Marketing team to promote and thank fundraising activity within the region.
  • Contribute to the Charity’s Growth Fundraising Strategy, including promoting the ‘Saving Lives Lotto’ and other new initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for handling, counting and banking cash raised at fundraising events.
  • Comply with the Charity’s policies and processes, including Financial, Health & Safety, GDPR, data protection and ensure effective governance.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to drive the Charity’s mobile educational unit as required; full training will be provided.
  • Work with the team to manage the region’s stock and fundraising resources.
  • Plan for and attend regional meetings/planning meetings/volunteer meetings.
  • Undertake other duties and training as may reasonably be required from time to time.
  • Be on the on‑call rota for West and South volunteers (1 in 6 weekends).

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales or an income‑generating role or community fundraising.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining long‑term customer/donor relationships.
  • A willingness to travel and work unsociable hours, both in the evenings and at weekends.
  • Have suitable home‑based accommodation to provide a satisfactory working environment.
  • Clean driving licence and access to own car, although a Charity vehicle is provided for work mileage.
  • Experience in project/event management.
  • Experience in presenting to a variety of groups.
  • Residing within the West region.
  • Experience of working from home.
