Position: Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) – part of the Estates Department, based at York Hospital but may work at any Trust site. Permanent contract, 22.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical maintenance support within the York area and across Trust sites.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team, covering a wide range of building services and engineering maintenance duties.
- Undertake routine and non‑routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot mechanical systems and assist in continuous improvement of facility safety.
- Participate in Health & Safety training and other relevant training.
Qualifications and Experience
- Good general knowledge of building services and engineering maintenance.
- BTEC, City & Guilds Craft Certificate, NVQ Level 3 in engineering (preferably mechanical).
- Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance environment.
- Reliability, resilience, enthusiasm, motivation, ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Able to transport oneself and equipment around the community during normal working day.
