Band 3 – Contract Permanent, full time

Location: York

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, shifts 7am to 8pm

Main duties of the job:

  • Compilation and management of duty rosters, ensuring adequate staff are available to provide agreed service levels
  • Support with staff training and maintenance of staff records
  • Use basic computer skills
  • Ensure all paperwork at ward level is completed by staff according to policy and procedure
  • Monitor food waste levels and temperature controls
  • Carry out audits
  • Brief and support staff on departmental issues
  • Liaise with ward staff, patients or relatives regarding special food requirements
  • Ensure enough stock available to replenish wards

Person specification:

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to supervise, plan, organise and prioritise
  • Communication skills – electronic, written and verbal
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a hospitality service
  • Knowledge of HACCP
  • NVQ Level 3 or relevant qualification within the Catering field (i.e., Food Safety) or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge
  • Ability to travel to various sites as and when required
  • Full UK valid driving licence
