Are you a highly motivated Plumbing Craftsperson with a trade related background? Are you looking to develop your career? If so, then we have a role for you! The Estates Department are looking to recruit a highly motivated Building Technician, (Plumbing BIAS), to work as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team primarily within the Scarborough/Bridlington area.
The department provides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust\’s buildings and engineering infrastructure. The role is critical to the Estates Department\’s busy maintenance support service, covering a wide range of engineering services to help you develop your skills. You will contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering services in the Trust\’s clinical and non-clinical facilities, within a very busy directorate, and be part of a team continually working to improve the quality and safety of the Trust\’s healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be based at Scarborough Hospital but must be willing to work at any of the Trust\’s sites. You must be flexible regarding hours of duty and will be expected to undertake appropriate training, including Health and Safety training. The role involves working as part of a maintenance team and participating in an on-call/out of hours rota, for which an additional payment will be made. You must have the ability to transport yourself and equipment throughout the community during a normal working day.
Qualifications and requirements
- Good general knowledge of building services and engineering maintenance
- BTech, City and Guilds Craft Certificate or NVQ 3 qualification in a plumbing/engineering discipline (preferably plumbing)
- Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance colleagues
- Demonstrable experience of working within a maintenance environment
- Reliable, resilient, enthusiastic, motivated and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
