Are you a strong team player, friendly and motivated? Then we may have the role for you! Bridlington Hospital Catering Department requires enthusiastic Catering Operatives to work in all areas of the Department, Main Kitchen and Dining Room.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills. Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.
Main duties of the job:
- Making sure food trollies are ready for ward areas.
- Serving in Dining Room.
- Delivering food to functions and events within the trust as required.
- Keeping the kitchen areas clean.
- Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP.
- Washing up and other general cleaning duties.
- Picking and packing food ready for service.
The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.

Education, Qualifications and Training:
- Good basic education which includes reading and writing plus basic numeric skills.
- Basic understanding or a willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training which includes: Food Hygiene Level 2, BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in cleaning/catering or equivalent.
Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Able to read, write and converse in English.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Previous experience of working in the NHS.
- Able to use small and large pieces of equipment such as Regeneration oven/dishwashers/Floor machinery.

YTHFM LLP is a partnership between York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management Limited.
