Assistant Facilities Manager – York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management

Hours - 37.5 hours per week, working 5/7 days. Base - York Hospital.

Are you looking for a post based within our YTHFM? Do you possess strong leadership skills, are a keen team player, kind, friendly and motivated? We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Facilities Department at York Hospital. This is a Monday to Friday daytime role with a start to be agreed, but may very occasionally require weekend working.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day Portering, Waste Management and Linen Operations to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Line manage on-site teams, providing training and ensuring staff adhere to organisational policies and health and safety standards.
  • Ensure standards set by the Facilities Manager are maintained.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of soft services functions to maintain high standards and ensure key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Monitor budgets related to soft services, ensuring rots are cost effective without compromising service quality.
  • Maintain compliance records, ensuring accurate recording and updating relevant documents to provide assurance to senior management.
  • Responsible for all initial level HR related issues for direct reporting staff.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of consumables, uniforms and equipment, adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor trends by ensuring accurate recording of sickness absences and annual leave.
  • Ensure all staff receive an annual appraisal and attend all relevant training pertinent to their role.

DBS Checks

All new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in one payment or over a six-month period. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. Volunteers and bank-only staff will not be charged. The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) offers a confidential checking service for transgender applicants in accordance with the Gender Recognition Act 2004. The sensitive applications route gives transgender applicants the choice not to have any gender or name information disclosed on their DBS certificate.
