York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP) is seeking an enthusiastic Bank Chef to work in the Main Kitchens of the Catering Department across Scarborough, Bridlington and Malton. Applicants must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to work variable hours. You should be self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills, able to work under pressure, prioritise your workload, and carry out physical tasks. A Driving Licence is required.

Main duties of the job:

  • Preparation & Cooking Tasks
  • Maintenance of Hygiene Standards
  • Food Safety, Assured Safe Catering Health and Safety Legislation
  • Follow Department procedures and good practices
  • Keeping the kitchen areas clean
  • Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
  • Washing up and other general cleaning duties
  • Knowledge of Special Diets
  • Organise daily working plan prioritising
  • Reorganise menus at short notice

The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player, and able to work unsupervised. Full training will be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.
