We are looking for a capable and driven Associate Programme & Planning Manager to join our growing construction consultancy at a pivotal stage of delivery across some of the UK's most significant residential and infrastructure development schemes. If you have a solid grounding in construction planning and programming, with experience across housing delivery, urban regeneration, or infrastructure projects, and the ambition to grow your expertise across complex, large-scale programmes, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.

You will work as a core member of our planning and programming team, taking genuine ownership of programme management across major commissions while being supported by senior colleagues. You'll contribute to the development of integrated delivery strategies, work directly with client and design teams, and help drive programme performance from pre-construction through to completion. Your role will be hands-on and client-facing, with real scope to grow into a senior position over time.

A key part of your workload will involve one of the UK's largest and most ambitious urban regeneration schemes: a long-term, multi-phase residential-led development comprising thousands of new homes alongside significant community infrastructure, transport connections, and public realm. The project presents a uniquely complex programming challenge, with multiple concurrent construction phases, extensive infrastructure sequencing requirements, and coordination across a wide range of stakeholders and delivery partners. You'll gain exceptional experience managing programme interfaces in a live, evolving environment at genuine scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support the development and maintenance of integrated master programmes, design development schedules, and detailed construction programmes across residential and infrastructure projects.
  • Take day-to-day ownership of programme monitoring and reporting, tracking progress against baseline, identifying areas of risk or delay, and preparing clear, concise updates for client and project teams.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, designers, infrastructure providers, and client representatives to gather, validate, and interrogate programme information across multiple concurrent phases.
  • Assist in the assessment of contractor programmes, critical path analysis, and evaluation of extension of time submissions.
  • Contribute to programme reviews and progress audits, supporting senior colleagues in producing objective, evidence-based assessments of schedule performance.
  • Help develop and maintain phased delivery and procurement strategies, coordinating programme interfaces across design, enabling works, infrastructure, and construction stages.
  • Support the management of complex sequencing challenges specific to large-scale residential and infrastructure schemes, including utilities diversions and new connections, groundworks and drainage, highways and transport infrastructure, and the coordination of multiple house builders or delivery contractors working concurrently across phased land parcels.
  • Assist in the preparation of client-facing reports, presentations, and programme documentation to a high professional standard.
  • Develop your knowledge of planning software, programme controls methodologies, and consultancy best practice, actively contributing to internal knowledge sharing.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience in construction planning and programming, with a focus on residential, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects, gained within a consultancy, construction management, or contracting environment.
  • A developing portfolio of schemes demonstrating experience across housing delivery, urban regeneration, or civil and enabling infrastructure works at meaningful scale.
  • Practical experience working with contractors' programmes, reviewing, challenging, and integrating programme data across multiple workstreams or plot-based delivery structures.
  • A working understanding of residential procurement routes, including design and build, multi-contractor phasing strategies, and infrastructure adoption, and the role of the programme within the commercial and contractual environment.
  • Competence in programme controls: schedule development, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard planning software: ASTA Powerproject, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present programme information clearly to developers, local authority stakeholders, infrastructure providers, and contractors.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset, comfortable working in fast-paced project environments and managing competing priorities across large, multi-party schemes.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant construction, engineering, or project management discipline (or equivalent experience).

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in discussing, please apply within or contact Grant.
