We are working exclusively with Mandale Group, an award-winning house builder (UK Property Awards), to recruit a commercially driven, design-oriented Technical Design Manager. This is a pivotal role within their head office team, offering the chance to lead technical delivery and design coordination across a diverse portfolio of projects nationwide.

Mandale’s portfolio is predominantly residential led, but also spans multiple sectors, including:

• Commercial
• Residential
• Food & Beverage
• Retail

Historically, Mandale has funded projects using its own capital, but is now expanding by incorporating third-party investment, creating exciting growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and technical function from concept through to completion.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning requirements, and company standards.
• Drive value engineering and maintain commercial awareness throughout the design process.
• Manage technical documentation, specifications, and approvals.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all design-related queries.

Ideal Candidate

• Background: Architectural, engineering, or technical/draughtsman experience, ideally gained within a contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and technical detailing.
• Commercially astute with the ability to balance design quality and cost efficiency.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, willing to stand your corner on matters that count.
• Proficient in design software and technical documentation.

What’s on Offer

• Competitive salary in the region of £55,000 – £65,000, depending on experience.
