We're currently looking to recruit student Coffee Team Members to join the YSJSU team! If you're interested then read on and send us an application form.
Role is based at York Campus. We employ a large team of student staff. These are students from all years and a wide variety of courses, so there is a great social network within our team and many of our staff form lifelong friendships with the people they work with at YSJSU. We welcome applications from everyone, so don’t worry if you have never worked in this area before. We have a training programme for all of our staff, which helps you develop a wide variety of skills to take with you once you have finished University.
Requirements
- You are a current York St John University student
- Can work day shifts around university commitments
- Have good time management skills
Main duties whilst working in The Lounge
- Working within the Students' Union Coffee Lounge, delivering great customer service, and contributing positively to student experience at YSJ
- Making drinks time efficiently to specifications
- Engaging with customers, demonstrating excellent product knowledge and promoting offers whilst working in a busy, social environment
- Taking drink orders and using the till system
- Adapting to the pace of trade and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the Students' Union
- Ensuring that the coffee lounge is ready for service, and that it is closed to a clean and correct standard
- Food running throughout the venue and supporting the student team as a whole
- Completing relevant online courses - these are qualifications that are great to add to your CV
