We are currently seeking a full-time Accounting Manager at our main campus in York, Maine. The Accounting Manager will oversee the department's financial operations, including managing the accounting team, payroll, accounts payable, and cash posting, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, preparing financial reports, and offering insight into financial performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and expertise in financial management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and documentation in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Financial analysis: Analyze financial data to assess profitability and efficiency. Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insight into financial performance and variance analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory authorities.
- Auditing: Coordinate and complete audits, and manage internal controls.
- Cost Reporting: Coordinate and complete Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting.
- Accounting team: Manage accounting staff, AP staff, Payroll staff, and Cash posting team and help with day-to-day operations.
- Financial strategy: Plan, implement, and supervise the company's financial strategy.
- Decision-making: Use financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Payroll: Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including tax filings.
Education/Licensure/Certifications/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA desired).
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
