Overview: York Archaeology provides commercial archaeological services from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham, delivering excavation, survey, consultancy, conservation, research and public engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Operate from the Nottingham office to deliver a wide range of archaeological projects – including prehistoric, Roman and medieval sites, both rural and urban.
- Travel to sites across the UK will be required.
- Applicants will be expected to work locally within the region and farther afield; accommodation, transport and subsistence funds will be provided.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in archaeology or related discipline and an appropriate level of demonstrable experience.
- Minimum 6 months experience within commercial fieldwork, successful completion of an existing training scheme, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Desirable Criteria:
- A full, UK driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential.
- A willingness to drive site vehicles, including welfare vans, would be extremely desirable.
- CIfA membership would be advantageous, but not essential.
- A First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous, but not essential.
