Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated health care support worker to join our award winning stroke service. Over the past 20 years stroke care has changed dramatically. Stroke is now treated as a medical emergency, where time is brain, and our service has developed to reflect this. Our needs lead service admitting patients aged 18 upwards comprises of a dynamic multi disciplinary team, including research staff, that deliver evidence based patient centred care along our stroke pathway, from admission through to discharge to the community. Responsibilities
- Direct patient care focusing on the specific needs of the individual
- All aspects of personal care and adherence to Infection Prevention policies
- Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness on the ward
- Maintain effective communication with patients, their relatives and professional colleagues
- Work under direct supervision and support of a Registered Nurse
Training and Development
- Comprehensive training academy on joining the organisation and a mandatory training package to support developing clinical skills
- Annual stroke specific training to support the needs of our patient group
Working for the Trust
- Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at York Hospital. Remote interviews are not available.
- Informal discussions about the role with the Recruiting Manager are encouraged
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Face to Face interview in York
