The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The post holder will play an essential role in supporting Matrons and Senior Sisters by facilitating education, training and practice development within Child Health, establishing a high standard of education for all clinically based staff. The post holder will work in partnership with Senior Sisters and will be responsible for implementing evidence-based, patient-focused practice.

They will work within the clinical area, collaborating with staff to facilitate the development of skills in order to integrate education and practice development, thus enhancing quality care delivery from both registered and unregistered workforce. The post holder will lead and facilitate audit and research and will function as a role model for staff within the clinical area, enabling and supporting the development of interdisciplinary and cross-site working to ensure the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.

This cross-site role requires the post holder to demonstrate the knowledge and skills of an experienced paediatric nurse and will:

  • Work a mix of clinical and managerial duties across York and Scarborough Hospitals, ensuring equitable education is delivered to high standards.
  • Lead on the delivery of core clinical training, induction, and competency workshops for staff, ensuring alignment with paediatric proficiencies and organisational needs.
  • Maintain and develop clinical expertise to act as an expert resource to colleagues by acting as a role model guiding practice development and education delivery.
  • Develop and review relevant policies and documents and ensure training is delivered and benchmarked against national standards.
  • Lead audits and reviews to measure the effectiveness of educational initiatives, contributing to service improvement and innovation.
  • Promote a proactive innovative approach to education, learning and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
  • Network with teams within the wider Trust and outside the Trust developing interpersonal relationships.
  • Handle line management responsibilities of the paediatric education team including work planning and managerial duties.
  • Ensure the education provision to the nursing teams are met cross-site ensuring an equitable provision and high standards of education and teaching.
