The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure, supporting colleagues across the business, and contributing to a high performing IT function. Working closely with the IT Manager, you will provide hands on technical support, help drive system reliability, and ensure a seamless user experience across all technology platforms. You will also be instrumental in onboarding new employees, ensuring they have the tools and access needed from day one. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first line and second line support for Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and business systems
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and in person
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access via Active Directory and Entra ID
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and secure deactivation
- Manage and prioritise IT helpdesk tickets to ensure timely resolution
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and manage equipment stock levels
- Create and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles
- Escalate complex issues where required and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Support IT security best practices and ensure compliance in all activities
- Assist with system access checks for AWS environments to support business continuity
About You
You will bring a strong technical foundation combined with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering high quality IT support.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks
- Experience with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory / Entra ID
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and device provisioning
- Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A proactive, solutions focused approach with a commitment to excellent service
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Intune
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper V)
- Experience supporting hybrid or remote working environments
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki networking
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and asset management tools
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
