About the Role

Yondr is looking for a talented and experienced Technical subject Matter Expert (SME) – A Controls & Building Management systems design/engineer that will join the DCX (Data Centre Execution) team to provide engineering design expert input to ensure our portfolio of projects is compliant against our design parameters relating to controls, monitoring and data systems and that of our tenants and operational requirements, and compliant also with local code. The Controls & BMS SME will play a critical role in shaping Yondr’s current and next‑generation digital infrastructure platforms, supporting both Hyperscale/Cloud and AI compute environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as Yondr’s global authority for Controls, BMS, and EPMS systems, ensuring consistent application of standards across all regions.
  • Develop, maintain, and own global BMS / Controls reference designs, Basis of Design (BoD) strategies, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate as part of the bench of technical expert SME within Yondr to ensure that appropriate standards in design and in management and behaviours are consistently delivered.
  • Oversee live projects through to detailed design and sign-off the BMS/Controls and integration systems in accordance with our global standards.
  • Define and govern integration strategies across: BMS, EPMS, DCIM, Fire & life safety interfaces, OT/IT networks.
  • Support the development of data strategies to enable energy optimisation, fault detection, performance monitoring, and future AI‑driven analytics.
  • Engage with the supply chain to challenge the ‘norm’ and develop innovative solutions to provide the world class product considering: technical performance, resilience, energy efficiency, buildability, scalability, maintainability.

Qualifications and experience

  • Expert knowledge and extensive experience with BMS and Controls & integration systems including BMS, EPMS, DCIM, Fire and Life Safety and OT/IT networks.
  • Proven DC/Mission critical focused experience in managing and delivering in controls systems for data centres.
  • Understanding in depth of the commissioning processes relating to Data Centre delivery.
  • Good commercial acumen with understanding of commercial impacts to technical decision making from capex to opex.
  • Be professional and personable with the ability to lead meetings, workshops and presentations.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent is required.
