Yonder is a credit or debit rewards card that is designed to be fair, flexible, and actually enjoyable to use. If you want to work somewhere that's at a genuine inflection point, and on a product that our members really love, come Yonder with us.

We're looking for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to own underwriting strategy end to end. This includes setting risk boundaries, the decisioning rules and models that action it, and the portfolio outcomes that prove it worked. This is a senior, hands-on role, and will have significant exposure to leadership who are committed to supporting the right outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Leading underwriting strategy, balancing responsible lending, portfolio performance and receivables growth within our agreed credit risk appetite.
  • Designing, testing and refining strategy across the lifecycle, including application scoring, affordability, price and line setting, and price and line management.
  • Managing pricing and line dynamics by channel to optimise both growth and return.
  • Translating strategy into production by building and maintaining decisioning rules and policy directly in our decisioning engine.
  • Leading portfolio monitoring, ensuring vintage curves, arrears, roll rates and early warning indicators are tracked.
  • Driving the credit risk narrative for governance, owning the analysis and materials supporting Credit Committee, Board and regulatory engagement.
  • Partnering closely with Finance, Fraud, Collections, Marketing and Product.
  • Identifying the required data to deliver a step change in our decisions.
  • Bringing rigour to a space still building its playbook.

You're a great fit if:

  • You have real ownership of underwriting strategy and deep experience in financial services credit risk.
  • You’ve priced and managed risk in non-prime or near-prime unsecured lending.
  • You’re expert-level with SQL and/or Python.
  • You can present underwriting strategy and portfolio performance to senior levels.
  • You have a builder's instinct and genuine judgement about risk appetite.
  • You have exposure to a decisioning platform.

You won't be a great fit if:

  • You'd rather analyse than decide.
  • You want established playbooks to follow.
  • You want distance from the numbers.
  • You want a fully remote role.
  • You need red tape between an idea and a live test.

What's it like working at Yonder?

  • We're office-first, remote-friendly.
  • We take a values-led approach.
  • We take development really seriously.

What's in it for me?

  • £111,342 - £126,347 annual salary depending on experience.
  • £107,590 - £130,099 stock options plus 35 holidays.
  • Regular team building trips and activities.
  • Private healthcare with Bupa.
  • 12 weeks enhanced parental leave for all parents after being with Yonder for 1 year.
  • Learning & training allowance (£750/year).
  • Monthly team events.
  • Cycle to work scheme.

What's the interview process like?

  • Stage 1: Intro call (45 mins).
  • Stage 2: Take home task (48 hours to complete).
  • Stage 3: Face-to-face interview (2.5 hours).
  • Stage 4: Offer.

Other things to know:

  • We love closing the feedback loop at Yonder.
  • We must complete the right to work, criminal background, credit and media checks for every new Yonder-er.
  • We know that diverse teams build better products.
