We’re building the financial membership of the future. Starting with a credit card that has fun and experiences at its core, we’re the antithesis to your dad’s stuffy, corporate, boring credit card. Whilst tech is revolutionising the finance industry, credit is still stuck in the stone ages. We want to create a world where financial services are fair and conscious, and the stress of debt is eliminated for everyone. We raised an additional £23.4M in September 2024 to grow our team, launch even better rewards and fast-track our expansion outside the UK.

As our customer numbers grow, we’re expanding our operations team to support them. This role will be at the heart of our financial operations: key responsibilities will include ensuring accuracy in billing, supporting disputes, and safeguarding against fraud. Along with the Escalations Support team, you’ll work closely with our Finance team as well, and your role will be pivotal in maintaining trust with our members by handling financial processes with precision and care.

What you’ll do:

  • Keeping billing spotless: You’ll make sure everything adds up. Each month, you’ll reconcile customer transactions with their balances to keep billing clean and accurate. If something’s off, you’ll spot it, fix it, and reach out to customers directly if needed.
  • Owning chargeback outcomes: When things go wrong, you’ll be on the case. You’ll handle chargeback outcomes, following up on any that don’t go our way, and making sure customers are kept in the loop. You’ll also manage the paperwork that helps us recover costs and keep things running smoothly.
  • Fighting fraud (the smart way): You’ll be part of the team that helps us keep fraudsters at bay. That means reviewing any sketchy payments—from business or third-party accounts—and flagging anything that doesn’t look right. You’ll also help us spot and support cases of direct debit or APP fraud.
  • Partner payments, sorted: Each month, you’ll invoice our rewards partners and chase up anything outstanding. You’ll keep accounts in check and make sure the money lands where it should, when it should.

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have a background in financial operations—especially if you’ve done it in a fast-moving fintech.
  • Obsess over the details and love bringing order to complex processes.
  • Spot what’s off, dig into the data, and fix things fast.
  • Take ownership, get things done, and don’t wait to be asked.
  • Believe good work happens when smart people work together.

You won’t be a great fit if you:

  • Prefer a highly structured environment with established processes for every task.
  • Are uncomfortable with ambiguity and the need to develop new procedures.
  • Don’t want to take initiative or seek continuous improvement in processes.

What’s it like working at Yonder?

  • We’re office-first, remote-friendly. We’re based in our Hoxton office, complete with a terrace, breakfast, coffee, dogs and plenty of comfortable space to do your best work. We expect you to come in to the office at least 3 days a week, with everyone coming in on Mondays. During your first 6 weeks of training, you’ll likely need to come into the office full-time.
  • We take a values-led approach. Our principles are incredibly important to us.
  • We take development really seriously. We have a pretty structured process for progression, with fortnightly one-on-ones and quarterly peer perspectives. We also take some time at the end of each week to reflect and celebrate what we’ve learned and achieved.

What’s in it for me?

  • £29,000 - £35,322 annual salary depending on experience.
  • £15,926 - £22,669 stock options.
  • 35 holidays (27 days annual leave + 8 days public leave).
  • Regular team-building trips and activities.
  • Private healthcare with Vitality, including mental health, dental & vision cover.
  • 16 weeks enhanced parental leave for all parents after being with Yonder for 1 year.
  • Financial coaching with Octopus Money.
  • Learning & training allowance (£750/year) that you can use on books, courses, etc.
  • Monthly team breakfast/lunch.
  • Monthly team events like Mini-golf, Escape Room, Cocktail making.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Fresh pour-over coffee made by our very own CEO, Tim.

What’s the interview process like?

  • Stage 1: Hiring Manager Call (45 mins): An initial Zoom call to get to know you, your experience and motivations, and to share more about Yonder. This will be with Antony.
  • Stage 2: Technical Task (60 mins, in person): We’ll dive into two real-life questions that are representative of the day-to-day work you’d be doing in the role. This will be with MC (VP Strategy & Operations) and a member of our Finance team.
  • Stage 3: Values Interview (60mins, in person): Explore how your work style aligns with our principles. This will be with two people from the wider team.
  • Stage 4: Offer: If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us.

We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible). Other things to know: We love closing the feedback loop at Yonder. You can expect specific feedback on our decision from Stage 2 onwards, and you can always ask for more. We must complete the right to work & criminal background checks for every new Yonder-er for compliance purposes because we handle sensitive customer data. We also do reference checks, ideally with your most recent manager on the phone. We like to move quickly at Yonder, so we will be ready to onboard you once the above checks are complete - the entire process can take between 2 - 6 weeks. We know that diverse teams build better products. If you’re from an under-represented community, we’d especially love to hear from you. Even if you don’t feel 100% qualified, please do apply anyway. Your attitude and desire to grow are just as important as your experience.
