We’re building the financial membership of the future. Yonder combines credit and debit in one membership, designed to be fair, flexible, and actually enjoyable to use. We raised £23.4M in September 2024 to grow the team, launch even better rewards, and expand beyond the UK.

The Legal & Compliance function continues to grow and we’re looking for a Compliance Associate to support our maturing 2nd line function.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate the delivery of Yonder’s compliance monitoring programme, including carrying out monitoring activities, gathering evidence, and tracking follow‑up actions.
  • Assist in providing day‑to‑day 2nd‑line compliance support and challenge to the business, escalating issues to senior compliance where needed.
  • Support compliance input into new products, product changes, and business initiatives under the guidance of senior compliance colleagues.
  • Help maintain compliance policies, procedures, and control documentation, ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Track compliance risks, issues, and remediation actions, and help prepare management information and reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory engagement activities, including preparing information and materials for regulator requests and reviews.

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have a strong compliance background: You have a solid foundation in how a compliance function should run and feel comfortable getting to grips with the ever changing compliance landscape. Having a consumer credit or Fintech background is a huge plus!
  • Enjoy solving difficult problems and stay cool under pressure: We’ve got ambitious goals and we like to move fast. You need to be comfortable solving problems quickly and you need to keep your cool in order to find solutions if things go slightly pear‑shaped.
  • Are super practical: No‑one likes an unnecessary checklist - you must love to think creatively and enjoy finding innovative solutions to even the most standard of compliance issues.

You won’t be a great fit if you:

  • Need a lot of structure and clearly defined processes. We’re still growing and figuring things out as we go.
  • Aren’t comfortable working independently at times. Support is always there, but autonomy is important.
  • Find it difficult to take ownership or make decisions when things aren’t clear‑cut.
  • Are looking for a strict 9–5. Some flexibility is needed in a fast‑moving environment and working to tight deadlines.

What’s it like working at Yonder?

  • We’re office‑first, remote‑friendly. We’re based in our Hoxton office, complete with a terrace, breakfast, coffee (from a barista), dogs, beer taps and plenty of comfortable space to do your best work. We ask you to come into the office at least 3 days a week, with everyone coming in on Mondays.
  • We take a values‑led approach. Our principles are incredibly important to us.
  • We take development really seriously. We have a pretty structured process for progression, with fortnightly one‑on‑ones and quarterly peer perspectives.

What’s in it for me?

  • £36,700k - £41,150k annual salary depending on experience
  • £20,983 - £25,727 stock options
  • 35 holidays (27 days annual leave + 8 days public leave)
  • Regular team‑building trips and activities
  • Private healthcare with Vitality, including mental health, dental & vision cover
  • 16 weeks enhanced parental leave for all parents after being with Yonder for 1 year
  • Financial coaching with Octopus Money
  • Learning & training allowance (£500/year) that you can use on books, courses, etc
  • Monthly team breakfast/lunch
  • Monthly team events like Mini‑golf, Escape Room, Cocktail making
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme
  • Fresh pour‑over coffee made by our very own CEO, Tim

What’s the interview process like?

  • Stage 1: Intro call (45 mins): You will have an initial Google Meet call to find out more about you and to tell you more about us.
  • Stage 2: Face‑to‑face interview (2 hours): Two 60‑minute interviews to learn more about how you work. This will also be a great opportunity for you to meet the rest of the team.
  • Stage 3: Reference checks at this stage – ideally with a previous manager and a peer over the phone.
  • Stage 4: Offer. If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us.

We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible).

We know that diverse teams build better products. If you’re from an under‑represented community, we’d especially love to hear from you. Even if you don’t feel 100% qualified, please do apply anyway. Your attitude and desire to grow are just as important as your experience.
