Yolk Recruitment are supporting the recruitment of Fabrication Team Leaders to manage welding and fabrication teams within a busy manufacturing environment. These roles cover both mobile and static/special fabrication areas, with responsibility for day-to-day production, quality, safety, and team performance.

You will take ownership of fabrication output, ensuring work is completed right first time, to standard, and in line with production schedules. This role is ideal for an experienced fabrication leader who enjoys being hands-on and driving improvements on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the fabrication/welding team to meet daily production targets.
  • Plan, sequence, and prioritise welding activities to maximise flow and minimise rework.
  • Allocate welders effectively across jigs, assemblies, and sub-components.
  • Conduct daily start-of-shift briefings covering safety, quality, and production priorities.
  • Ensure materials, drawings, jigs, and consumables are available at point of use.
  • Maintain high welding quality standards through self-inspection, in-process checks, and final sign-off.
  • Take ownership of workshop standards including housekeeping, 5S, tool control, and visual management.
  • Coach and develop your team, supporting skills growth and cross-training.
  • Complete quality documentation and NCRs where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing waste, rework, and delays.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure smooth workflow between departments.

  • Strong understanding of quality standards and safe working practices.
