We are delighted to be recruiting for Hedyn, one of the largest housing associations in Wales, to recruit a Workplace Support Assistant. Formed through the merger of Melin Homes and Newport City Homes, Hedyn is a vibrant, newly created organisation with an ambitious vision: Creating connected communities where everyone can live well.

The Opportunity

This is a 3-month fixed-term contract supporting Hedyn's Workplace Experience team during a period of increased demand and organisational transition. You'll play a vital role in ensuring their office environments remain safe, well-managed, operationally efficient and welcoming for colleagues and visitors. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone proactive, organised and adaptable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting fire safety checks across multiple sites
  • Managing office repair enquiries and coordinating maintenance jobs
  • Supporting equipment and stock management (including DSE items and first aid supplies)
  • Producing weekly office usage reports
  • Maintaining workplace systems (sign-in app updates, desk booking enquiries)
  • Liaising with contractors and suppliers
  • Providing reception cover (mail handling, deliveries, parking coordination)

You’ll work closely with internal teams including Safety & Health, Property & Place, Communications, and the People Team, as well as external contractors and service providers.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in facilities, workplace support or office operations
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Confident communicator with solid interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently across different locations
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
