Opportunity: Private Client Lawyer

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Bonus

Location: Chippenham | Hybrid & Flexible Working

Good quality work, a team you can grow with and a career that doesn't have to come at the expense of your life outside the office. If you're a Private Client lawyer who's ready for a new challenge but aren't looking to move just for the sake of it, this could be worth a look!

We're working with a long-established, highly regarded law firm in Wiltshire that's looking to grow its Private Client team. With a loyal client base, experienced leadership and a family-friendly approach to working life, this is an opportunity to develop your career in a firm that values its people as much as the work they do.

The Work:

This isn't simply a role focused on turning around Wills and routine probate files. You'll handle a varied Private Client caseload, advising clients on everything from Wills, estate administration and Powers of Attorney through to inheritance tax planning, Court of Protection matters and more complex trust and estate work. There's also exposure to high-net-worth individuals, complex estates and high-value trusts, giving you the opportunity to build on your technical expertise and work on matters that will continue to develop you as a lawyer. With a longstanding client base, you'll have the chance to build meaningful relationships, understand clients' wider circumstances and provide advice that makes a real difference at important points in their lives. It's a role where strong technical ability and a personal approach to client care go hand in hand.

The Team and Firm:

The Private Client department is jointly led by highly experienced lawyers across the full spectrum of Private Client work. You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative team with approachable leadership and experienced colleagues around you. Support is there when you need it, ideas are welcomed and there's room to develop your career as the department continues to grow. For someone who wants to take the next step professionally, there's scope to strengthen their expertise, pursue further qualifications and build a long-term future within a respected firm, rather than feeling they need to move elsewhere every few years to progress.

Who Would Suit This Role?

Ideally, you'll be a Private Client Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE and experience across Wills, Trusts and Probate. You'll be comfortable managing your own caseload and enjoy building client relationships while delivering high-quality advice. STEP qualification would be an advantage but it's by no means essential. Experienced CILEX professionals and lawyers with less than three years' PQE will also be considered if they have the right experience and approach.

What's On Offer?

  • Up to £70,000 salary, plus bonus.
  • Hybrid and flexible working, giving you more control over how you balance work and home life.
  • 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, giving you time to properly switch off.
  • Enhanced maternity pay and a truly family-friendly approach.
  • Clear career progression, with room to develop as the team grows.
  • Supportive colleagues and approachable leadership, with the benefit of working alongside experienced Private Client specialists.
  • The opportunity to join a long-established, well-respected firm with a loyal client base and a strong reputation.

The firm recognises that good lawyers have lives outside work, too. The aim is to give people the support and flexibility to do their jobs well, build successful careers and still have time for everything else that matters.

Interested In Finding Out More?

Whether you're actively considering a move or simply curious about what else is out there, it's worth a chat! If you're looking for interesting work, real opportunities to progress and a firm that understands the importance of work/life balance, this could be the next step you've been waiting for.
