Overview: This is a full-time surveying and project management role focused on delivering damp, mould and condensation works across social housing stock. You will be responsible for managing cases from initial inspection through to completion, including diagnosis, specification writing, contractor management and customer liaison. The role involves working closely with residents, leaseholders and internal teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard. You will manage your own portfolio of cases, including complex and high-risk HHSRS-related works, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with compliance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage damp, mould and condensation cases from initial survey through to completion.
  • Inspect properties, diagnose building defects and carry out relevant testing and building pathology assessments.
  • Produce detailed reports and technical specifications, including for disrepair claims and Section 20 works.
  • Oversee delivery of works, including contractor management, pre-start meetings and on-site quality inspections.
  • Monitor performance of contractors and in-house teams, ensuring works meet required standards and KPIs.
  • Carry out post-inspections to ensure works are completed to specification, fit for purpose and deliver value for money.
  • Take ownership of complex cases, including HHSRS risk-related issues and customer complaints.
  • Work closely with residents, keeping them informed and supported throughout the lifecycle of works.
  • Liaise with internal teams including repairs, asset management and compliance to coordinate delivery.
  • Support procurement activities including quotations, tenders and contractor selection.
  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing multiple building surveying or repairs projects within housing.
  • Strong knowledge of damp, mould and condensation, building defects and building pathology.
  • Good understanding of HHSRS and relevant housing legislation.
  • Experience of writing technical reports and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety, including CDM regulations.
  • Relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or Construction).
  • Full UK driving licence.
