Yolk Recruitment are supporting a well-established FMCG manufacturer in South Wales with the recruitment of Contract Mechanical Shift Engineers to support their maintenance team on site. These roles are available immediately.
You will join an experienced engineering team on a busy, well-invested manufacturing site. The role will involve a mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support, and some project work, working on a range of high-speed production and packaging equipment.
The site has good engineering support and well-equipped workshop facilities, allowing the team to carry out a large proportion of work in-house.
You will work 12-hour shifts, either 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am, on a rotating pattern of 2-3 days on and off. The rota runs in two-week blocks of days followed by two weeks of nights.
What you will need:
- Time served mechanical apprenticeship
- Experience working in an FMCG or high-speed manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical fault finding and maintenance skills
- Welding and machining experience would be advantageous
