Youth Coordinator Location: Cardiff - Remote with frequent travel Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027 (Possibility of extension) Salary: £28,186 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full Time DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS required Job Purpose The Youth Coordinator will support young people to understand key crime-related issues and help break down barriers to reporting crime. The role involves delivering engaging workshops in secondary schools, youth settings, and community environments, while building strong partnerships with local organisations to provide a coordinated response to youth crime and exploitation across Cardiff. Key Responsibilities Deliver workshops and educational programmes to young people in secondary schools, pupil referral units (PRUs), and youth settings. Facilitate engaging and interactive sessions tailored to the needs of young people. Ensure workshop content reflects local issues affecting young people and supports crime prevention. Build and maintain effective partnerships with schools, youth organisations, police, local authorities, and other relevant agencies. Develop opportunities to engage with young people both within and outside school environments, including during school holidays. Support the creation of educational resources and awareness materials for young people and youth professionals. Assist with social media content and campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and engagement. Collect, monitor, and evaluate programme outcomes, maintaining accurate records and producing reports as required. Represent the organisation at meetings, events, and community engagement activities. Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and support future funding opportunities. Develop positive relationships with stakeholders to maximise the reach and impact of the programme.Person Specification Essential Experience of working with young people. Experience of planning and delivering workshops or training sessions. Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices. Experience of working within schools, youth services, or similar settings. Knowledge of crime-related issues affecting young people. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities.
