Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established, market-leading manufacturer in the search for an experienced Key Account Manager to join their commercial team in South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional to manage a portfolio of key accounts while identifying opportunities to grow existing business and win new customers.

Working with some of the UK's most recognised businesses across the bakery and foodservice sectors, you'll play a pivotal role in developing long-term customer relationships and delivering exceptional service.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, you'll become the primary point of contact for several high-value customer accounts, ensuring an outstanding customer experience while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Working closely with colleagues across sales, operations and manufacturing, you'll ensure projects are delivered successfully while supporting customers from initial enquiry through to order completion.

This is a field-based role with regular travel across the UK to visit customers, attend industry events and represent the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing customers and new target accounts.
  • Manage the full sales process from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and successful order completion.
  • Deliver regular face-to-face customer meetings to strengthen relationships and understand business requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and to customer expectations.
  • Represent the business at exhibitions, trade shows and industry events.
  • Travel throughout the UK as required.
  • Provide excellent account management and commercial support across your customer portfolio.

About You

We're looking for an ambitious and relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys developing long-term customer partnerships and delivering commercial growth.

You'll ideally have

  • Previous experience in Key Account Management, Account Management, Business Development or Technical Sales.
  • A proven track record of growing customer accounts and generating new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, customer-first approach with strong commercial awareness.
  • The ability to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Experience selling capital equipment within the bakery, catering, foodservice or commercial equipment sectors would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other capital equipment industries will also be considered.
