Are you an experienced Tool Maker looking for a varied, hands-on role within a growing technical manufacturing business? Yolk Recruitment is supporting a specialist plastic injection moulding manufacturer in the search for a Tool Maker to join their established Tool Room team. Supplying a diverse customer base across multiple sectors, this business operates a modern, fast-paced production environment where tooling performance is critical to quality, efficiency and customer delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool Maker, Mould Toolmaker or Toolroom Engineer to play a key role in maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of injection mould tools, while contributing to continuous improvement, new product introduction and manufacturing excellence.
Key responsibilities:- Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of injection mould tools to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve tooling faults impacting production, quality, cycle times and overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Support tool modifications, engineering changes and customer-driven improvement projects across a wide range of injection mould tools.
- Operate toolroom machinery including CNC mills, lathes, grinders and manual toolmaking equipment to produce precision components.
- Strip down, clean, assemble and test injection mould tools, ensuring correct electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic functionality before return to production.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Technical and Quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve moulding and tooling issues.
- Record all tooling activity accurately using ERP and quality management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Previous experience as a Tool Maker, Mould Toolmaker, Toolroom Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of plastic injection mould tools, maintenance and repair processes.
- Experience operating CNC and manual toolroom machinery.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing or production environment.
