Our client has a strong and growing product portfolio. The challenge is not the quality of the products, but ensuring that every product in the range is understood, positioned correctly, supported with accurate information and managed effectively throughout its lifecycle with a clear commercial focus. This role owns the "what" of the marketing function. Working at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, Design and New Product Development, the Product & Portfolio Analyst ensures the product range is commercially coherent, customer-ready and communicated with precision.
Portfolio Management & Analysis
- Maintain a clear, data-driven view of the product portfolio, analysing performance by product range, category and market to support commercial and marketing planning.
- Evaluate products across their lifecycle (launch, growth, maturity and decline), identifying opportunities for lifecycle extension, repositioning or rationalisation.
- Collaborate with Sales and Finance to support the development of a rolling 3-5-year product roadmap based on commercial evidence.
- Develop business cases for new product introductions and portfolio changes, incorporating sales forecasts, pricing, margins and competitive positioning.
Pricing & Product Information
- Own and maintain the global price list, working closely with Finance, Sales and Operations to ensure pricing updates are accurate and communicated effectively.
- Ensure all product information remains current and accessible, including technical data, specifications, environmental information and configuration details.
- Manage the marketing implications of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), assessing impacts on pricing, collateral and communications.
- Maintain the accuracy of product specification data within digital configuration tools, working alongside IT to ensure new products launch with up-to-date information.
Go-to-Market Support
- Partner with marketing colleagues to ensure all product launches are supported by clear positioning, compelling value propositions and accurate sales enablement materials.
- Translate technical and engineering information into clear, benefit-led messaging for customers and sales teams.
- Ensure marketing collateral accurately reflects the current product portfolio and category positioning.
- Act as the internal product expert, supporting sales teams with product knowledge, specifications, competitive positioning and commercial messaging.
Market & Competitor Intelligence
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, customer needs, competitor activity and pricing.
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and gaps within the portfolio.
- Develop knowledge of regional market requirements and advise the business on implications for product development and go-to-market strategies.
- Provide sales teams with market insight to support customer conversations.
Reporting & Insights
- Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor portfolio performance, product launches and market positioning.
- Track key performance indicators following product launches and use insights to inform future decisions.
- Produce clear reports and presentations summarising portfolio performance and market intelligence for senior stakeholders.
- Stay informed of emerging market trends and evolving customer requirements.
