Are you ready to step into a role where you really own the numbers? We're looking for a fully qualified Finance Manager to join a successful and well-established local business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, commercially minded and having real influence across the business.
The Opportunity
As Finance Manager, you'll sit at the heart of the business, heading up a standalone Finance function and taking responsibility for the entire finance process from start to finish. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, providing accurate financial information, insight and challenge to support business decision-making. You'll also oversee Payroll, working closely with a small finance team to ensure everything runs smoothly, accurately and efficiently.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Taking full ownership of the day-to-day Finance function
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
- Providing commercial insight and analysis to the MD
- Managing the year-end and audit process
- Overseeing VAT and other statutory requirements
- Managing and developing a small Finance team
- Taking responsibility for the full Payroll process
- Driving improvements across finance processes and controls
- Acting as a trusted financial partner to the MD and wider business
What we're looking for
You'll be a qualified accountant with strong experience across the full finance cycle. You'll be comfortable operating autonomously, making decisions and taking ownership rather than simply being a small part of a larger finance department. Payroll experience is essential, as you'll have responsibility for overseeing this process alongside your Finance duties.
We're looking for someone who is:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Experienced in a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role
- Confident with management accounts, budgeting and forecasting
- Experienced in Payroll
- Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable reporting directly to a senior business leader
- A natural leader who enjoys working with and supporting a small team
- Happy to work 5 days per week on site
