Yolk Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded national law firm with the recruitment of a Litigation Lawyer to join its established Civil Litigation Division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience handling contract-based disputes who is looking for varied, challenging and rewarding work within a supportive and technically strong legal team.

As a Litigation Lawyer, you will manage your own caseload of civil litigation matters, with a particular focus on contractual disputes. The work will include claimant and defendant matters across commercial contracts, consumer contracts, misrepresentation, professional negligence, construction disputes and other contract-related claims. The caseload will include work funded by Legal Expenses Insurance, as well as private and commercial instructions. Many matters are complex, high value and intellectually engaging, offering the successful candidate the chance to further develop their litigation experience in a collaborative and well-supported environment.

This is what you will be doing:

  • Managing your own caseload of fast track, intermediate track and multi-track contract dispute matters.
  • Advising individual and commercial clients on a range of civil litigation claims, including sale of goods and services disputes, building contracts, professional negligence and misrepresentation.
  • Handling claimant and defendant litigation matters from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Liaising with clients by telephone, video call and face to face, providing clear and pragmatic legal advice.
  • Using a case management system to progress files, manage deadlines, record activity and deal with billing and invoicing.

The experience you will bring to the team:

  • Experience managing your own caseload of contract-based civil litigation matters.
  • A background as a Solicitor, FCILEx, Senior Paralegal or equivalent legal professional with relevant litigation experience.
  • Experience advising on fast track and multi-track disputes, ideally including both individual and commercial clients.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • A pragmatic, client-focused approach with excellent communication skills and good IT ability, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Experience dealing with insurance-funded clients would be desirable, although this is not essential.

This is what you will get in return:

  • Salary from £35,000+ depending on relevant experience.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Health cash plan and gym/lifestyle benefits.
  • Work-life balance initiatives and dress for your day.
  • People-focused recognition and referral schemes.
  • Development opportunities and routes to qualification.

Please note that any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory credit check and basic criminal record check.
