Health & Safety Officer

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established business with the recruitment of a Health & Safety Officer.
They are looking for a proactive Health & Safety professional with experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment to help maintain high standards of workplace safety and compliance.
The role will involve supporting risk assessments, audits and inspections, investigating incidents, improving safe working practices and providing practical Health & Safety guidance and training across the business.
This is what you'll be doing:
- Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the company's Health & Safety Management System.
- Developing and reviewing risk assessments, policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings while promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
The experience you'll need in this role:
- Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Experience carrying out workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
