MERITUS are recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join our client within the Electrical Systems and Engineering sector, supporting UK and international customers from their Telford base and global client sites.

Service, maintain, and support electrical and mechanical systems at customer sites across the UK and worldwide. Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, testing, and inspection of complex electrical and mechanical equipment. Install, commission, and validate systems in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Provide technical support to UK and international customers via telephone and email. Build, assemble, and prepare systems and equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and production schedules. Support global customers with reactive and scheduled service requirements, including occasional weekend cover and international travel.

Skillset / experience required:

  • Essential:
    • Proven experience in a field service, OEM support, or electrical engineering maintenance role.
    • Strong electrical control and fault-finding skills, with a good mechanical understanding.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
    • Competence using Microsoft Office and computer-based diagnostic tools.
    • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible schedules when required.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience supporting OEM machinery or industrial automation equipment.
    • Background in electrical maintenance, service engineering, or commissioning roles.
    • Experience working with international customers or on global projects.
    • Understanding of industrial control systems or automated equipment.
    • Strong customer-facing communication skills and problem-solving ability.
