MERITUS are excited to be partnered with a growing Project Controls Consultancy supporting their Site Operations team at a Utilities (water) industry client in Tamworth. We're looking for experienced Senior Project Managers with experience running complex Engineering / Construction projects. The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for pre- and post-contract management under NEC3 and NEC4 ECC contracts, working closely with commercial teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. This role offers long-term career development, structured training, and support toward chartership. This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Project Manager with strong NEC contract management, ECI and Design & Build experience, and a background in the UK water or utilities sector. The role is based on client site in Tamworth with 4 days per week on-site.
Main Responsibilities
- Client-side management and administration of NEC3 / NEC4 ECC contracts (Options A, C and E)
- Control of project budgets, forecasting, and collaboration with QS teams on payment assessments and Defined Cost
- Leading pre-contract activities including scope development, tender preparation, evaluation, and risk management
- Managing post-contract delivery, including Compensation Events, Early Warnings, final accounts, and project close-out
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within the UK construction or infrastructure sector
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC3 / NEC4 suite of contracts, including ECC and PSC
- Experience delivering water, utilities, or major infrastructure projects (water sector preferred)
- Background in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and Design & Build procurement routes
- Chartered membership (or working toward) with APM, CaSA, or equivalent, plus solid CDM and risk management knowledge
