We are supporting a leading UK organisation within the construction and facilities space to appoint a Procurement Specialist to support indirect procurement activity across multiple stakeholders.
This role suits someone hands on, process driven, and commercially minded, with experience supporting tendering, supplier management, and contract activity within construction or facilities management.
Key Responsibilities- Support the UK construction procurement strategy across indirect spend
- Run and support competitive tender events using e procurement systems
- Plan tender programmes and coordinate timelines with internal stakeholders
- Source and engage suppliers across construction and facilities categories
- Identify, capture, and record cost saving opportunities
- Raise purchase orders during peak operational periods
- Support preparation for procurement governance and gate reviews
- Resolve and support invoice and supplier query issues
- Lead low value and low complexity supplier negotiations
- Negotiate standard contract terms including pricing, delivery, damages, termination, and insurance using approved templates
- Manage supplier performance and support development of longer term supplier relationships
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams including facilities, security, and SHE
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and procurement best practice
- Practical experience in procurement or a relevant vocational or academic qualification
- Procurement experience within construction and or facilities management
- Experience running tenders and working with e procurement tools
- Commercial understanding of contract terms and conditions
- Confident negotiator with suppliers
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Well organised with strong planning and administrative capability
- Proactive and able to work under pressure
- Pragmatic and solutions focused mindset
- Understanding of cost structures and pricing is desirable but not essential
- Opportunity to work within a structured and mature procurement function
