  • We are seeking an experienced

Bookkeeper to join our team in Porth, South Wales.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the accounts function.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day‑to‑day accounts function.
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Processing invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Monitoring cash flow and assisting with credit control where required.
  • Preparing and submitting payroll information to external accountants.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month‑end procedures.
  • Ensuring financial records are kept up to date and compliant.
  • Providing general bookkeeping and finance support as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a bookkeeping role.

Essential

Experience working with the

Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) .

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and double‑entry accounting.
  • Experience managing purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Payroll administration experience, including preparing payroll information for external accountants.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Desirable

  • AAT qualification or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  • Experience working within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based accounting software.
